National Congress for Australia's First Peoples Announced

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have been too long without a truly representative national voice. The aim of the newly announced National Congress for Australia's First Peoples however will be to turn this around. Described as a critical 'moment in time' by Social Justice Commissioner Tom Calma, the Congress will provide Australia's First Peoples with the chance to be heard. The image imcluded here shows Co-chairwoman Kerry Arabena sharing her joy following the announcement of the Congress in Canberra last weekend. If you would like to send your own congratulations to Professor Buckskin, you can email a message to him at peter.buckskin@unisa.edu.au or you can leave a message here.
